To the present for a #flash ...

Good day to you.

I am going to break my promise to bring you a post on getting my driver's licence but don't worry, I'll return to it.

Recently, I took the liberty (without asking my good wife's permission!) to book us cabins on the MSC Sinfonia. We actually made the trip from Cape Town to Mossel Bay about one week ago!

My good wife (she insists I call her that!), bought tablets for sea-sickness and we boarded at Duncan dock. No one tells you that while a large ship is in port on a calm day, there is zero movement of the juices in one's stomach. So, having found our cabin, we made a bee-line for lunch and gorged ourselves on the great offerings in the on-board buffet restaurant.

Believe you me: the "Sin" in MSC Sinfonia has little to do with an Italian #symphony and everything to do with the final deadly sin: Gluttony. The food was incredibly good and variety fit for the British #Royal family was provided throughout the cruise. So much so that I returned to the ship in Mossel Bay to have lunch, rather than eat the local land lubbers grub.

I am no a sailor but I grew a pair of sea legs rather quickly. As we left the relative calm of  Table Bay harbour, I could already feel that growing a pair was non-negotiable. In betwixt my growth period, I could not help but notice why Cape Town is called the Fairest Cape. We were completely entranced by the view and could not stop talking in hyperbole about it. Although we grew up in close proximity to the Mother City, the view from out there in the Atlantic is worth every blue cent spent on the cruise. Now those lucky enough to inhabit the Atlantic seaboard may scoff at my enthusiasm - if they do, they've no idea how blessed they are!

So you already know I spent my cruise eating and gawking but there are other things to do on board. There bars with live music, a variety of shows, a casino, a gym and spa, two pools and jacuzzis and, for the ladies, a small shopping mall (if you buy the specials, it is not too expensive!)

Oh! and you unexpectedly run into old (no pun intended) friends!

In time I'll share some other juicy tidbits with you but for now all I'll do is recommend a cruise, especially from the #FairestCape.

Next, I'll probable return to my history on the black strip!
